If you're planning a wedding, you’ve probably realised that flowers are a big part of the day—and they can be a big part of the budget too. At Little Blooming Florist, I’m all about creating bold, fun, and colorful designs that bring your wedding vibe to life. But want to be realistic about how much they can cost, so you can plan without the nasty surprises.
So, how much do wedding flowers actually cost?
Here in the UK, the average spend on wedding flowers usually accounts for 10-15% of your wedding budget. Keep in mind, everyone will be different and I’ll always work with you to figure out what fits your style and budget.
What makes flowers cost what they do?
There’s a bunch of factors that influence the price of your wedding flowers. Here are some of the main ones:
Seasonality: Picking flowers that are in season is usually cheaper, but if you’ve got your heart set on something out of season, costs can climb.
Complexity: Simple doesn’t mean boring—it means less time and fewer materials, which can save you cash. Elaborate designs? Gorgeous, but they do take more work.
Venue Size: Bigger spaces = more flowers. It’s as simple as that.
Flower Choices: Some flowers, like peonies and orchids, are pricier than classics like roses or chrysanthemums.
Labour & Setup: The more installation work required, the higher the cost. Installation work takes time and usually more hands which needs to be considered.
